Catriona Gray on Monday said she has lost trust in public officials in the Philippines and criticized what she described as the government’s lack of concern for constituents.

Gray, the 2018 Miss Universe titleholder and an active public figure, made the remarks while reacting to current social and political issues that she said affect ordinary Filipinos.

She stated that government officials serve as public servants and said she expected them to prioritize the welfare of citizens in their decisions and actions.

The beauty queen said she feels disheartened when she sees citizens, including vulnerable sectors, experience difficulties that she believes government policies and programs should address.
