BGYO, a Filipino pop group, has been featured in a Forbes playlist inspired by the animated Netflix film “KPop Demon Hunters.”

The five-member group, known as the “Aces of Pop,” gained recognition for their 2022 hit “Tumitigil Ang Mundo,” which was included in the list titled “16 Songs If You Love ‘Soda Pop’ By Saja Boys From ‘KPop Demon Hunters.’”

Veteran K-pop columnist Jeff Benjamin curated the list, placing BGYO’s track at No. 10. The song “Tumitigil Ang Mundo” serves as the lead single for BGYO’s second album “Be Us” and has been commended for its dynamic energy and joyful sound.

Jeff Benjamin noted the growing global influence of Filipino artists and praised BGYO’s energetic and feel-good vibe. He also highlighted the visual similarities between BGYO’s music video and the fictional SAJA Boys’ performance scene in “KPop Demon Hunters.”

Released on June 20, the animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” quickly became popular on Netflix, amassing over 33 million views in its first two weeks. The film’s soundtrack, notably “Soda Pop,” has garnered attention and comparisons across various genres.

Other artists featured in the Forbes playlist include K-pop acts NCT Dream, ZEROBASEONE, AB6IX, SHINee, and Kim Woo Seok. This recognition marks a significant achievement in BGYO’s international journey.

In 2023, BGYO was recognized by the Grammys as one of the “Asian Pop Artists to Check Out.” In 2021, they debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart.
