MANILA, Philippines– The Bacoor Municipal Trial Court convicted GMA artist Archie Alemania for acts of lasciviousness against fellow artist Rita Daniela.
The court imposed a prison term of up to one year and ordered Alemania to pay P40,000 in damages to Daniela.
The conviction followed a review of the evidence and arguments submitted during trial proceedings. Daniela, also a GMA artist, filed the complaint that led to the ruling.
The ruling signals the court’s position on addressing acts of lasciviousness. Alemania retains the right to file an appeal.
