Ombudsman Boying Remulla announced that former Representative Elizaldy Co is likely to face criminal charges over alleged corruption involving flood control projects.

The allegations center on a P289.5-million project in Mindoro that investigators classify as a ghost project.

The Office of the Ombudsman is advancing its probe into the disappearance of funds intended for flood control infrastructure. Evidence gathered so far points to Co’s alleged role in the questioned project.

Authorities aim to enforce accountability in government contracting through continued investigation and possible prosecution.
