MANILA, Philippines — Actress and content creator Alex Gonzaga celebrated her upcoming first child at a baby shower organized by her sister, Toni Gonzaga, during an event held in Taguig on June 7.
Toni featured the gathering in a YouTube vlog titled “The Baby Shower I’ve Always Prayed For My Sister,” which she uploaded on June 14.
“Nangyari na ang baby shower na matagal ko nang ipinagdarasal para sa kapatid ko,” Toni said in a voiceover at the beginning of the video.
Alex attended the event with her husband, Mikee Morada. While the couple has not publicly disclosed the baby’s gender, the event featured blue decorations and a bear-themed motif.
“It’s your party, baby. Everybody’s happy for you,” Alex said while speaking to her unborn child in a clip shown in the vlog.
Family members and several personalities from the entertainment industry attended the event, including Julia Barretto, Marjorie Barretto, Luis Manzano, Jessy Mendiola, Melai Cantiveros, and Jason Francisco.
Other guests included Cong TV, Viy Cortez, Toni Fowler, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, and Fifth Solomon.
Bayani Agbayani and Wacky Kiray served as hosts of the event.
During the vlog, Alex described the baby shower as a celebration of life and expressed gratitude for the support of family and friends.
“Itong baby shower na ’to for me is not just a party pero a celebration of life,” she said.
The video concluded with a message from Toni to her younger sister.
“I promise you kung paano kita minahal, inalagaan at pinrotektahan nung bata ka—,” Toni said before the video ended.
Toni said a second part of the vlog will be released next week.
Alex announced on May 23 that she and Morada are expecting their first child. The announcement came after the couple publicly shared their previous pregnancy losses.
Alex revealed that she experienced a miscarriage in 2021 and another pregnancy loss in 2023. In 2024, Morada said the couple had experienced a third miscarriage.
Alex and Morada married in 2020 in a private ceremony after four years of dating.
