Alex Eala earns spot among WTA’s Top 50 players

Alex Eala, a Filipino tennis player, advanced into the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Top 50 rankings, reaching a career-high of No. 50 on Monday, following an impressive season.

Eala continued her upward trajectory despite a round-of-16 exit at the Hong Kong Open, where she was defeated by Canadian Victoria Mboko with scores of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

This achievement marks an improvement from her previous ranking of No. 51. During the season, Eala made significant strides with a semifinal appearance at the Miami Open and secured a victory in the US Open main draw.

Eala is set to participate in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, further showcasing her growing career in international tennis.
