MANILA, Philippines — Actress Ai-Ai delas Alas, 61, completed the HYROX Rome fitness race after pushing through painful leg cramps during the physically demanding solo event.
Delas Alas shared a compilation of clips from the fitness competition on her Instagram page Saturday, Sept. 26, as she reflected on completing the race.
“I am almost 62. I challenged myself to race HYROX Solo,” Delas Alas said. “The cramps in both my legs, from top to bottom, were so painful that I wanted to quit. But I reminded myself why I started and fought until the very end.”
She said the race took almost three hours and described the experience as a test of courage and resilience rather than speed.
“This race was never about the time. It was about courage, resilience, and the strength to keep going when everything tells you to stop,” she said.
Delas Alas thanked her supporters and fitness coaches who helped prepare her for the competition.
She also expressed gratitude to God, Mama Mary and HYROX Rome for their support during the event.
Several celebrities, including Carla Abellana, David Licauco, Aubrey Miles and Shaina Magdayao, congratulated Delas Alas in the comments section of her Instagram post.
Delas Alas also completed the HYROX Hong Kong event in May.
