Blackpink’s Jisoo’s styling team accused of delaying garment return

SEOUL — A Belgian fashion designer has accused the team of Blackpink member Jisoo of failing to return borrowed clothing used in a past album photo shoot, before later saying the dispute is now being resolved.

Benjamin Bortmans, founder of Belgian label Judassime, initially claimed on Instagram that several garments sent to South Korea for Jisoo’s album cover shoot had not been returned for more than six months. He described some of the items as “important archive pieces” that were “extremely expensive.”

“Six months ago, I sent multiple pieces for Jisoo’s album cover project,” Bortmans said in a now-deleted video. “Some of them were very important archive pieces and extremely expensive.”

He also alleged that repeated attempts to contact the production team went unanswered and said invoices and documents had been prepared in case legal action became necessary.

The designer’s posts quickly drew attention online after he tagged Jisoo’s account in social media appeals for the garments’ return. However, criticism followed, with some users arguing he was unfairly associating the singer directly with a production or management issue.

In a follow-up video posted May 6, Bortmans said the situation appeared to be improving.

“I received news that everything is being solved,” he said, adding that arrangements were being made for the items to be retrieved.

He later clarified that his intent was not to target Jisoo personally, saying her name was used because it was associated with the shoot and appeared in related documentation.

“I never attacked Jisoo,” he said. “I used her name because it was a part of the shoot and her name was everywhere in all the e-mails and documents.”

Bortmans also expressed frustration over what he described as poor communication but said he holds no ill will toward the singer.

As of publication, Jisoo’s agency had not issued a public statement regarding the allegation.
