GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen cargo shipment valued at more than $250,000 and arrested two suspects after a traffic stop on Interstate 10 West, authorities said.

Investigators received information about a truck tractor and semi-trailer transporting the shipment in the area. Deputies located the vehicle and stopped it in the 8800 block of the highway.

Authorities said the cargo, identified as a shipment of snow crabs, had been stolen and was recovered following an investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau met with the cargo’s owners on Friday morning to arrange the return of the shipment.

Officials identified the suspects as Rafael Velez and Leonardo Lara. Authorities took both men into custody and charged them with first-degree felony theft of cargo valued at $200,000 or more.
