Willie Revillame helps commuters with free rides during oil price hike

MANILA, Philippines — Amid rising fuel prices linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict, TV host Willie Revillame is giving commuters a lift — literally.

During a recent episode of his game show “Wilyonaryo,” Revillame announced that he and his friends purchased six minibuses that will offer free rides to the public.

“Nag-ambag-ambagan kami. Bumili kami ng minibus… Kapag nakita ninyo po yung Wilyonaryo, libreng sakay,” Revillame said, explaining that each vehicle will carry 21 to 23 passengers and will be clearly marked with a “Wilyonaryo Libreng Sakay” sticker. He added that the program will cover both fuel and drivers.

The TV host also personally coordinated with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to secure the necessary permits, noting that the minibuses will operate in bus lanes on major routes during rush hours. Key stops include Monumento in Caloocan, SM North EDSA in Quezon City, Starmall along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong, and Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

“Basta ‘yun po ang tulong ng programang Wilyonaryo sa ating mga kababayan,” Revillame said, underscoring his commitment to easing transportation costs for commuters.
