Whitney Houston, Kevin Costner’s The Bodyguard set for a remake

Warner Bros. confirmed the development of a remake of the 1992 film “The Bodyguard,” originally starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.

The studio announced that Sam Wrench, known for directing “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” will direct the new version.

Jonathan A. Abrams, recognized for his work on “Juror No. 2,” will write the script.

The studio has yet to announce the casting for the roles. The original film, a romantic thriller, became a box-office hit upon its release.
