The Alzheimer’s Association will hold its annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday in Houston, Texas, bringing together participants to raise awareness and funds for care, support, and research.

Walkers will gather outside Houston City Hall, joining a nationwide movement dedicated to fighting the disease.

Ginny Funk leads a team in memory of her mother, who passed away from Alzheimer’s, sharing how the walk allows her to honor her mother while contributing to a meaningful cause.

The event serves as one of the Alzheimer’s Association’s largest fundraising efforts, with proceeds supporting care services, educational programs, a 24/7 helpline, and research initiatives aimed at understanding and treating Alzheimer’s.

The walk features a Promise Garden ceremony, where participants raise flowers in colors representing different connections to the disease: blue for those living with Alzheimer’s, yellow for caregivers, purple for those who have lost someone, and orange for supporters.

The Houston walk demonstrates the impact of collective action in raising awareness, honoring those affected, and strengthening resources for families and caregivers across the city.
