Hosts of the noontime program It’s Showtime raised concerns about rising fuel costs and the state of public transportation in the Philippines during a recent episode.

During the April 27 broadcast, Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis shifted from their usual comedic banter to discuss everyday challenges faced by commuters.

When asked how she would spend a ₱150,000 prize from the show’s “Laro Laro Pick” segment, Curtis said she would use it for her daughter’s needs. Vice Ganda responded that he would spend the money on gasoline, citing the high cost of fuel.

“Lahat tayo iniinda ‘yung gasolina,” he said, adding that some of his vehicles are no longer being used due to fuel expenses.

Co-host Vhong Navarro noted that some car owners have started commuting because of rising fuel prices, a point echoed by Jhong Hilario.

Curtis then highlighted challenges in the country’s public transportation system, saying more people would choose to commute if services were more efficient and comfortable. She added that public transit systems in other countries are often more convenient and enjoyable.

Vice Ganda also pointed to overcrowding in rail systems such as the Light Rail Transit and Metro Rail Transit, describing conditions as difficult for daily commuters.

The discussion ended with both hosts noting that transportation issues and fuel costs are affecting many Filipinos and contributing to broader concerns about quality of life.
