MANILA, Philippines — The University of Santo Tomas (UST) clinched its eighth consecutive general championship in the collegiate division of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 87, which concluded Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

UST also continued its dominance in the high school division, winning its ninth straight overall title. The university accumulated 346 points in the collegiate division and 289 points in the high school division across 22 events.

The Thomasian community celebrated the victories, which solidified UST’s standing as a top-performing institution in Philippine collegiate sports. UST won 24 of 31 collegiate events, earning eight golds, seven silvers, and nine bronze finishes.

UST has now collected a total of 48 general championships in the UAAP’s 87-season history. The university’s consistent performance is widely recognized as a benchmark of athletic excellence in the country.

The Season 87 closing ceremony was attended by student-athletes, university officials, and supporters. With the theme “Strength in Motion, Hope in Action,” UST concluded its hosting duties on a high note.

University officials expressed gratitude to the athletes and coaches for their commitment and hard work throughout the season. The results underscore UST’s strategic focus on sports development, teamwork, and talent nurturing.

As preparations begin for UAAP Season 88, UST will look to continue its legacy of excellence and extend its winning streak in both divisions.
