Ateneo’s Ken Batas wins UAAP MVP, skips Final Four

MANILA, Philippines– Ken Batas, a player from the Ateneo Blue Eagles, won the MVP award for the UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament, becoming the first Ateneo player to achieve this honor since Marck Espejo.

Despite missing the Final Four, Batas will receive the MVP award before Game 2 between FEU and NU on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Batas excelled in the tournament with a remarkable 79.81 Statistical Points.

He surpassed De La Salle University’s Noel Kampton and University of Santo Tomas players JJ Macam, two-time MVP Josh Ybañez, and Popoy Colinares in statistical rankings.

Batas showed exceptional performance in scoring, spiking, and aces throughout the season.

The league will honor Batas along with other individual award winners during the event.
