WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bridget Brink, the United States Ambassador to Ukraine, has announced her early resignation, according to the U.S. Department of State.

The department has not yet named a successor. The resignation comes during an ongoing period of U.S. diplomatic engagement with Ukraine.

Brink began her role in May 2022. Her tenure included work on areas such as security cooperation, economic support, and institutional development between the United States and Ukraine. The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv stated that operations will continue as scheduled and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ukraine.

The Department of State reported that it is coordinating efforts to ensure continuity at the embassy. No reason for Brink’s resignation was given in the department’s public statements.

Brink’s departure occurs as diplomatic relations between the United States and Ukraine remain focused on security concerns and international cooperation. The situation in Eastern Europe continues to be a priority in U.S. foreign policy.

Brink previously served as U.S. Ambassador to the Slovak Republic and held various roles related to European and Eurasian affairs. Her career in the Foreign Service spans more than two decades.

The process of selecting a new ambassador is expected to follow standard procedures. The incoming official will assume responsibilities during a time of ongoing developments in the region.
