Trump to stop Secret Service protection for Biden’s adult children

WASHINGTON, D.C.– President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he plans to end the Secret Service protection for President Joe Biden’s adult children, Hunter and Ashley Biden, immediately.

This protection, initially extended by Trump before leaving office, was set to continue until July.

Trump expressed concerns over the resources being allocated for the Biden children’s protection.

He mentioned that 18 Secret Service agents were assigned to Hunter Biden during his travels in South Africa this week, while 13 agents were assigned to Ashley Biden.

Trump indicated that both would no longer be included in the protection detail.

Under federal law, former presidents and their spouses are entitled to lifelong Secret Service protection.

However, immediate family members over the age of 16 typically lose this protection once the president leaves office.

Outgoing presidents can extend the protection for family members for up to six months, a provision both Trump and Biden have used.

Hunter Biden was recently seen leaving a federal courthouse in Los Angeles following legal challenges, but those matters are unrelated to the Secret Service protection decision.

The Secret Service confirmed its awareness of Trump’s decision and stated it would comply with the directive, working closely with the White House to implement the change.

Trump, when asked about reconsidering the decision during a visit to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, noted that he was not fully aware of the details of Hunter Biden’s security and would review the matter further.
