President-elect Donald Trump has extended an invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend his inauguration ceremony, according to reports.

The inaugural event is scheduled for January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump frequently mentioned China, critiquing trade relations and what he perceived as unfair practices affecting American workers.

The response from President Xi Jinping and the Chinese government remains anticipated.

In recent years, U.S.-China relations have experienced strains, particularly on issues like trade imbalances, cybersecurity threats, and the South China Sea territorial disputes.
