WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump called on the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Friday to investigate connections between deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein and several prominent Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton.

Trump directed federal authorities to examine Epstein’s relationships and financial dealings with these political figures. Epstein, who was convicted as a sex offender and died in jail in 2019, maintained a network of high-profile acquaintances across politics and finance.

Trump emphasized the need for transparency regarding Epstein’s associations with influential Democrats. He specifically cited Clinton’s interactions with Epstein, while sources said the inquiry would also explore potential financial links.

Clinton has acknowledged traveling with Epstein on multiple occasions but denied knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities. Democratic officials raised concerns that Trump’s request could be politically motivated.

The DOJ and FBI have not issued a formal response to Trump’s directive.
