Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump and Apple are set to announce a $100 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing, officials said Tuesday.
The move will increase Apple’s domestic manufacturing commitment to a total of $600 billion over the next four years.
A White House official confirmed the upcoming announcement, noting that the investment aims to expand Apple’s contributions to American manufacturing. The announcement is expected to outline how the funds will be allocated and which sectors of manufacturing will benefit.
Apple, which produces high-tech devices and electronics, has faced criticism for the large share of its manufacturing that occurs overseas, particularly in China.
The company said the investment will enhance its domestic production footprint, potentially creating thousands of jobs and supporting technological advancements in the United States.
