NEW YORK — Actor Tom Holland said in an interview published Tuesday that he and longtime partner Zendaya are married, addressing months of speculation about their relationship.
Holland made the remark during an interview with Esquire UK when he was asked whether he had to explain to family members artificial intelligence-generated images that appeared to show him and Zendaya at their wedding.
“No, because they were all there,” Holland said, before adding, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
The comment appeared to confirm speculation that the couple had already married. In March, Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, said the pair had already held a wedding.
Holland also spoke about the role of their relationship in helping them navigate the pressures of the entertainment industry.
“Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he said.
He added that Zendaya was his “best friend” and said he felt supported and safe in their relationship.
Holland and Zendaya met while filming the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming. The two actors are set to appear together in the upcoming films The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
