THE WOODLANDS, Texas — A new AI-driven private school, Alpha The Woodlands, will open this fall at 2000 Woodlands Parkway, offering students kindergarten through eighth grade a curriculum that compresses core academics into two hours each morning, according to a press release from Howard Hughes Communities.
The school charges $40,000 in annual tuition and uses an AI-powered platform to teach 30-minute blocks of math, science, reading, and language from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., including a short break for snacks and recess. Afternoons focus on workshops and real-world skill development, such as biking, hosting a news broadcast, or completing a Spartan Race.
Alpha School officials said the program aims to balance academic mastery with creativity and practical skills. The 8,000-square-foot facility underwent $400,000 in renovations and features open workshops and classrooms designed for personalized instruction and leadership development.
Alpha School claims its students learn two to 6.5 times faster than peers on nationally normed MAP tests, and surveys indicate 60 percent of students prefer attending school to going on vacation. The school is currently accepting applications and requires a $1,000 non-refundable deposit upon admission.
