San Francisco Police discovered the body of 26-year-old Suchir Balaji, a former researcher at OpenAI, in his San Francisco apartment.

Authorities ruled his death as a suicide.

Balaji, known for his work in artificial intelligence, had recently made headlines by accusing OpenAI of copyright violations in its AI training programs.

Reports indicate that Balaji had taken to social media, specifically X, formerly known as Twitter, in October.

Here, he expressed concerns that OpenAI was using copyrighted data unlawfully to train its artificial intelligence models.

Balaji’s accusations raised questions about the legality of the data practices employed by companies like OpenAI.

He alleged that the company’s methods violated copyright laws, potentially affecting a wide range of AI models, including the popular ChatGPT
