MANILA, Philippines– President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that the Social Security System (SSS) will open an office in South Korea to make services more accessible to Filipinos living in Seoul.
He made the announcement while addressing the concerns of overseas Filipinos in the region.
The new office will handle transactions and social security inquiries, offering services such as membership registration, contribution processing, and benefit claims assistance.
Filipinos in South Korea have long requested easier access to SSS services, which the upcoming office seeks to address.
The initiative forms part of the government’s effort to improve services for Filipinos working and residing abroad.
Officials said details about the location and opening date of the SSS office will be announced soon.
The government expects the new office to strengthen coordination between SSS and Filipino nationals in South Korea.
President Marcos said the move reflects the administration’s commitment to making government services more accessible to overseas Filipinos.
