MANILA — Park Chan-wook’s film No Other Choice, starring Son Ye-jin and Lee Byung-hun, will premiere in Philippine cinemas on Oct. 29, distributor CreaZion Studios announced.
The film debuted at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and was selected as South Korea’s official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards. It follows Man-su, a paper manufacturing specialist whose life unravels after losing his job, exploring themes of desperation and survival.
Directed and written by Park Chan-wook, the movie features performances by Son Ye-jin, Lee Byung-hun, and other notable Korean actors. Industry observers note that the film’s artistic execution aligns with Park’s distinctive storytelling style.
CreaZion Studios plans to release No Other Choice across various Philippine theaters in multiple formats and will oversee promotional efforts. The studio expects a strong reception, reflecting the growing international interest in Korean cinema.
The Philippine release is part of a broader international rollout aimed at expanding the film’s audience ahead of the awards season.
