NORTHEAST TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — Residents in northeast Travis County reported concerns Monday, Jan. 13, over deteriorating conditions on Hodde Lane near Pflugerville, citing potholes, uneven pavement, and increased traffic that they say affect daily travel and safety.
Community members said ongoing residential and commercial growth in the area has raised traffic volumes faster than road maintenance and improvements have occurred. Residents expressed worry that the road’s condition could damage vehicles and create hazardous driving conditions, particularly at night or during rain.
Several residents said they contacted Travis County offices to request repairs, resurfacing, and long-term improvements to Hodde Lane. County transportation staff confirmed they received the complaints and will review roadway conditions as part of scheduled maintenance planning and budget evaluations.
Some residents said they are documenting road conditions, submitting service requests, and attending public meetings to track updates on proposed work, while others have been using alternate routes when possible.
Officials said they continue to monitor road conditions in rapidly growing unincorporated areas and consider resident feedback when prioritizing maintenance and capital projects. Discussions on Hodde Lane and other local roads are expected to continue as development and traffic increases.
