WASHINGTON — Consumers across the United States should stop using World Class Fireworks’ “Skull Strobe” rockets after a nationwide recall Thursday because the fireworks can explode prematurely and cause burn injuries.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall affects about 132,440 rockets sold at fireworks stores nationwide from March 2025 through June 2026.

The recalled fireworks can detonate before reaching their intended height, creating explosion and burn hazards for users and people nearby, according to the recall notice.

No injuries or incidents had been reported as of Thursday.

The recalled products consist of rockets attached to wooden sticks and packaged in black boxes featuring a skull image, the World Class Fireworks brand and the “Skull Strobe” product name. The packaging also carries a warning label and the SKU number 1004351 near the bottom.

Retailers sold the rockets for about $12 to $25.

Jake’s Fireworks Inc., the importer, will provide full refunds to affected consumers.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fireworks and return them to the store where they purchased them or to the nearest Jake’s Fireworks retail location.
