LOS ANGELES — Sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning will share the screen for the first time in the upcoming film The Nightingale, an adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s bestselling novel.

Scheduled for release on February 12, 2027, the movie will feature the siblings portraying on-screen sisters.

Directed by Michael Morris, The Nightingale will mark a major milestone for the Fanning sisters, who have had successful careers individually but have not acted together in the same scenes.

Their only previous film appearance together was in I Am Sam (2001), where they played the same character at different ages.

Both Dakota, 26, and Elle, 21, will also serve as producers on the film.

Production details have not yet been released. The film will be distributed globally and is expected to attract significant interest upon its premiere.
