MANILA, Philippines — Comedian and host Vice Ganda and content creator Shuvee Etrata expressed mutual gratitude during a promotional event for their Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 entry, Call Me Mother.

Etrata described Vice Ganda as a “mother” figure in the entertainment industry and thanked the comedian for guidance, support, and the opportunity to work on a major film project.

The promotional activity, attended by the film’s cast and production team, presented Call Me Mother as part of the official MMFF 2024 lineup. The film is scheduled to screen in cinemas nationwide during the festival run beginning Dec. 25.

Both Vice Ganda and Etrata addressed questions from reporters regarding past reports of tension between them, stating that their current relationship is professional and focused on the film.

The pair indicated they will continue promoting the film through television guestings, social media content, and mall shows ahead of the MMFF opening. Festival organizers and cinema operators anticipate strong holiday attendance and said star-led projects like Call Me Mother are expected to draw audiences to theaters.

The MMFF 2024 selection committee included Call Me Mother among the official entries, with participating films scheduled to screen at theaters across the Philippines for the duration of the festival.
