MANILA, Philippines — Veteran singer-actress Sharon Cuneta revealed she recently underwent a medical procedure on her spine in Singapore after suffering from chronic pain for nearly two years.
In an Instagram post on March 12, Cuneta said she had been undergoing pain management for her right hip and leg before seeking treatment abroad.
“I wish I had gone there to vlog, but actually, it was for medical reasons. My spine,” Cuneta wrote. “Remember how I’d been under pain management for about two years for my right hip and leg? I had a procedure. And I do feel better, but I am still recovering.”
The actress added that tests also revealed additional issues in her neck that will require further treatment, and she is expected to return to Singapore in a few months for follow-up care.
“Don’t stress about it. What’s important is that I am okay, the pain has been dealt with, and we got to the root of the problem,” she said.
Cuneta also apologized to fans and colleagues after missing the finals of the TV show Your Face Sounds Familiar, where she serves as one of the judges.
Earlier this year, Cuneta announced plans to launch her own management company to handle her career moving forward. She also recently drew attention online after teasing Ferdinand Marcos Jr. over his choice of running mate in the 2022 elections, saying she “only has one vice president”—her husband, Kiko Pangilinan, who ran for vice president alongside Leni Robredo but lost to Sara Duterte.
