MANILA, Philippines — Actress and television host Shaira Diaz asked for kindness and sensitivity as she addressed pregnancy rumors and comments about her weight, saying she has been struggling to lose weight amid polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Diaz discussed the issue in a Facebook post on Friday, Aug. 21, while sharing photos from her recent trip to Finland with her husband, actor EA Guzman.
“I am aware that I gained weight, and I’m not proud of it. I’m trying, pero ang hirap talaga magpapayat,” Diaz said, adding that she is dealing with metabolic and hormonal issues related to PCOS.
She said she hoped people would be more mindful of what others may be experiencing before making comments about their appearance.
“Kaya sana naman, let’s be a little kinder and more sensitive. You never really know what someone is going through,” she said.
Diaz also criticized social media users who make negative remarks about other people’s bodies.
She separately denied rumors that she is pregnant, saying she would personally announce the news if she and Guzman were expecting a child.
“And to those spreading false information, I am not yet pregnant,” Diaz said. “Malalaman niyo from us kung oo.”
Diaz said she also experiences weight gain and insecurities and is doing her best not to let the comments affect her.
The actress ended her post with the hashtag “stop body shaming.”
Diaz and Guzman dated for 12 years before marrying in August 2025. The couple said in May that they were looking forward to starting a family.
