Celebrities and political figures are reacting to the tragic death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot while speaking on stage at Utah Valley University. The incident occurred during the opening event of his American Comeback Tour, leaving his wife and two young children behind.

Actor Chris Pratt took to X (formerly Twitter), asking for prayers for Kirk’s family and the nation. “We need God’s grace. God help us,” he wrote.

Former The View host Meghan McCain issued a passionate tribute, praising Kirk’s influence and vowing that the attack would not silence conservative voices. “The mark you have made on the world will forever be a blessing and memory,” she wrote.

Others emphasized the broader societal issues highlighted by the tragedy. Retired race car driver Danica Patrick and YouTuber Jake Paul both pointed to America’s growing mental health crisis. Paul, meanwhile, condemned the shooting as an attack on free expression, calling it evidence of a “mentally sick time.”

British broadcaster Piers Morgan described the shooting as “an appalling assault on free speech and democracy,” adding that Kirk’s openness to debate made the loss particularly devastating.

Kirk, a father of two young children—a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son—was widely known for founding Turning Point USA, a conservative student organization.
