Aleah Finnegan captured the women’s gymnastics vault gold medal for the Philippines at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games on Wednesday at Thammasat University Rangsit Campus in Pathum Thani, Thailand.
Finnegan edged Vietnam’s Thiguynh Nhu Nguyen to secure the top spot in the final standings. SEA Games officials listed Finnegan as the women’s vault champion for the 2025 edition of the biennial multi-sport event, which features athletes from 11 Southeast Asian countries. Nguyen was recorded as the silver medalist.
The gymnastics competitions were held at Thammasat University’s Rangsit Campus, with athletes from the Philippines, Vietnam, and other participating nations taking part in the women’s artistic gymnastics apparatus finals. Judges scored each vault based on difficulty and execution according to international standards.
Philippine sports officials reported Finnegan’s victory as one of the country’s early gold medals in gymnastics at the 2025 SEA Games. Coaches credited her vault performance for contributing to the Philippines’ overall medal tally in the regional competition.
