MANILA, Philippines– Vice President Sara Duterte departed for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on a personal trip with her family, confirmed the Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Tuesday.

The trip occurs ahead of Duterte’s impeachment trial, which the Senate is scheduled to conduct as an impeachment court starting June 11.

The OVP advisory confirmed Duterte’s travel plans but did not disclose specific details regarding the timing of her departure.
