A new residential development has opened on the west side of downtown San Antonio as part of ongoing revitalization efforts in the area.

The Continental Residences, a 290-unit apartment building developed by Weston Urban, held its grand opening last week. The property includes amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, and pet spa, and is located near downtown San Antonio.

The building sits adjacent to the historic De La Garza House, an 18th-century structure recognized as one of the city’s oldest residential buildings. The structure has been preserved as a landmark alongside the new development.

Weston Urban officials said the project integrates new construction with existing historic sites on the block. The development also features artwork from more than 30 local artists curated for the property.

The building’s general manager, Sunny Davila, said the project responds to increasing demand for downtown housing as more residents move into the area. Weston Urban vice president Mark Jensen said the development reflects broader growth trends in downtown San Antonio, including expansion linked to the University of Texas at San Antonio’s downtown initiatives.

The project is located near San Pedro Creek and historic streets in the downtown area, where additional residential and institutional developments have been underway.
