SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio and Bexar County law enforcement are on heightened alert as the ongoing U.S.–Israeli conflict with Iran raises security concerns.

Officials say Sunday’s mass shooting in downtown Austin adds to the need for increased vigilance, especially during large public events like St. Patrick’s Day and Fiesta.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the San Antonio Police Department plan to deploy more officers to high-traffic areas, including Six Flags Fiesta Texas, SeaWorld San Antonio, The Alamo, and other downtown attractions. Increased patrols may also be seen at churches and other places of worship.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
