AUSTIN, Texas– Heavy rainfall early Thursday morning caused severe flooding in San Antonio, resulting in at least four deaths and leaving several individuals missing, according to local authorities.

The flooding followed a period of intense rain that inundated multiple parts of the city, leading to widespread power outages and road closures.

Emergency response teams were deployed throughout the day to assist affected residents, conduct evacuations, and search for missing persons.

The San Antonio Fire Department launched rescue operations for individuals trapped in homes and vehicles, while the Texas Department of Transportation began clearing debris from blocked roads.

The National Weather Service issued flood warnings and advised residents to avoid driving through submerged streets. Local officials emphasized the importance of following safety guidance as the region faces the possibility of additional rainfall.
