San Antonio commuters faced slow traffic Wednesday morning after a major crash temporarily closed part of northbound Interstate 35 near the U.S. 281 and I-37 exit. The collision occurred on the upper level around 8:04 a.m., according to the Texas Department of Transportation’s TransGuide system.

TxDOT initially classified the crash as high severity until about 9 a.m. Traffic monitoring via SigAlert reported that the left lane of the connector ramp was blocked. While the lane has since reopened, drivers in the area are still moving slowly, with speeds averaging around 14 mph.

Motorists are advised to check the MySA traffic page for updates on delays and ongoing construction around San Antonio.
