San Antonio airport area secured after suspicious package scare

SAN ANTONIO — Authorities responded to a report of a suspicious package near San Antonio International Airport on Saturday afternoon, prompting a bomb squad investigation that later determined there was no threat.

The San Antonio Police Department said officers were dispatched around 1 p.m. to the 9800 block of Airport Boulevard after reports of a suspicious device near the baggage claim area.

Police said bomb squad units secured the area while conducting an investigation.

After examining the package, officials determined it did not pose a danger, and the scene was cleared without further incident.
