18 killed in Russian strike on Ukrainian president’s home city

A Russian missile strike on Friday killed 18 people, including nine children, in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s home city of Kryvyi Rih.

Authorities confirmed the missile hit a residential area, destroying buildings near a children’s playground.

More than 40 individuals sustained injuries in the attack, according to officials.

The incident marks one of the deadliest strikes in Kryvyi Rih since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Ukrainian officials issued statements condemning the attack and highlighted the continuous violence affecting the region.
