MANILA, Philippines — Ruffa Gutierrez said she felt emotional after her former husband, Yilmaz Bektas, posted a Mother’s Day message thanking her for raising their daughters, which she later acknowledged in a social media response.
Bektas shared the message on Instagram Stories on May 11, expressing gratitude for Gutierrez’s sacrifices and for the memories they shared. The post included photos of the former couple when they were younger.
Gutierrez responded through TikTok, thanking Bektas for recognizing her efforts in raising their daughters, Lorin and Venice. She said his message was meaningful and cited her decision to prioritize their children.
Gutierrez said she chose to focus on their daughters despite past circumstances and expressed appreciation for Bektas’ acknowledgment of her role as a mother.
Gutierrez previously confirmed in March 2025 that she and Bektas are on good terms. She also said Bektas proposed to her again, which she initially believed was a joke.
She later clarified that they did not reconcile and continue to maintain a co-parenting relationship.
