MANILA, Philippines — Rody Vera and Jamie Wilson have been announced as the newest additions to the cast of Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods for its upcoming Manila production.

Theatre Group Asia revealed that both actors will take on dual roles in the celebrated musical, with Vera set to portray the Narrator, and Wilson also slated for multiple roles, though specific characters for Wilson were not detailed.

The Manila staging of Into The Woods will be performed at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater from August 7-24, 2025, with shows scheduled Thursday through Sunday.

The production is set to run for a limited period, adding to the excitement of a star-studded cast.

First premiered on Broadway in 1987, Into The Woods intertwines various fairy tale characters into a complex, thought-provoking narrative.

The musical, known for its intricate music and compelling storyline, has been adapted globally, including a well-known feature film.

The upcoming Manila production is expected to provide a fresh perspective on this beloved classic.
