Austin authorities investigate body found in Lady Bird Lake

AUSTIN, Texas –A woman’s body was found in Lady Bird Lake over the weekend, raising renewed concerns among local residents and city officials. 

The Austin Police Department received a call on Sunday morning reporting a body floating in Lady Bird Lake, a popular recreational area known for kayaking, paddleboarding, and scenic walking trails. 

The identity of the woman has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Detectives are currently working to determine the cause of death and any potential public safety threats.

They are urging anyone who may have witnessed unusual activity in the area to come forward with information. The police have not disclosed additional details about the investigation, citing the need to preserve the integrity of the process.
