Flood control anomalies to be filed before Sandiganbayan, Remulla says

MANILA, Philippines– Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla announced plans to transfer the flood control project cases to the Sandiganbayan for prosecution.

Remulla, who assumed office earlier this year, said his team is ready to move the cases from the Office of the Ombudsman to the anti-graft court. He stressed that every individual involved in the alleged irregularities will face accountability.

The flood control projects have drawn public scrutiny over reports of corruption and misuse of funds. Remulla said the transfer aims to expedite proceedings and ensure transparency in resolving the cases.

He reaffirmed that the Office of the Ombudsman will continue to handle other corruption-related investigations and will coordinate with the Sandiganbayan to ensure efficient prosecution.

Remulla noted that his office has been working closely with legal teams to prepare the cases for transfer but did not specify a timeline.
