MANILA, Philippines– Regine Velasquez said she experienced anxiety during her recent guest appearance at Josh Groban’s Manila concert on Feb. 18.

Velasquez, known as Asia’s Songbird, said on X that while it was an honor to perform with Groban, she was so nervous that she forgot to eat. She added that performing onstage has become a source of anxiety, even though she still loves singing.

The Manila leg of Groban’s “GEMS” world tour featured special guests Velasquez, Martin Nievera, and Julie Anne San Jose. Velasquez said she struggles with stage anxiety despite a long career in music.

Fans and colleagues offered support. Erik Santos posted a message praising her four-decade career and encouraging her to take time for herself. Julie Anne San Jose and Zsa Zsa Padilla also reassured Velasquez that she performed well at the concert.

Velasquez’s career includes hits such as “Dadalhin,” “Araw-Gabi,” “Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka,” and “Sa Aking Pag-iisa.”
