The “Hands Off!” protests took place at over 1,200 locations across all 50 states in the United States on Saturday, April 5.

Over 150 groups, including prominent advocacy organizations, organized the demonstrations to voice opposition to the policies of President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk.

The protests centered on resistance to the influence of billionaires in governance and policy-making.

Protests were held at significant sites such as the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and various state capitol buildings and parks.

Organized by a coalition of progressive groups including MoveOn, Indivisible, and the Women’s March, demonstrators expressed opposition to a wide range of Trump administration policies.

Key concerns included cuts to healthcare, social security, civil rights, and education reforms.

Participants called on President Trump and Elon Musk to remove their influence from governmental sectors, arguing that their policies negatively impacted healthcare access, civil rights, and economic stability.

The protests aimed to challenge what organizers described as the growing influence of billionaires on U.S. politics and policy, particularly regarding the administration’s actions.

In major cities such as Chicago, Boston, and Seattle, thousands of protesters gathered to express their dissatisfaction with cuts to federal programs and what they saw as the erosion of public services.

The demonstrations also protested rising costs and government policies perceived as favoring the wealthy over the general public.

The “Hands Off!” movement emphasized economic justice, calling for greater accountability and transparency within the government.

Organizers advocated for the preservation of essential services and protections, urging policymakers to address the needs of ordinary citizens rather than powerful elites.

The protests remained peaceful, with participants from diverse backgrounds and communities.

Protesters carried signs and banners, chanting slogans demanding policy changes and greater government accountability.

The events featured speeches from activists and community leaders who underscored the importance of civic engagement and collective action in shaping public policy.
