WASHINGTON, D.C, — President Joe Biden has granted a pardon to a Texas woman who pleaded guilty to a non-violent offense in her teenage years, has since turned her life around, and is now employed in the healthcare industry.

Lashundra Tenneal Wilson, a 49-year-old resident of North Texas is one of the 39 individuals convicted of non-violent offenses across the United States who were granted pardon by the president.

This pardon is part of a series of clemency actions by Biden, which included commuting the sentences of nearly 1,500 individuals.

These actions are aimed at addressing past injustices in the criminal justice system, particularly for non-violent offenders who have been rehabilitated.

The process of granting clemency involves thorough evaluations by the Department of Justice and recommendations from the Pardon Attorney.

Each case is unique, and the President’s decision is the culmination of a careful review process.
