Pope Francis, 88, experienced a medical setback on Friday due to a bronchial spasm, which caused him to inhale vomit and required non-invasive mechanical ventilation to assist with his breathing.

Vatican officials confirmed that this incident occurred while the Pope is also battling double pneumonia.

The Pope has shown a positive response to the treatment, with a satisfactory level of gas exchange, and remains conscious and alert.

The Vatican has been monitoring his health closely and providing regular updates to the global community.

Although his condition is stable, his prognosis remains guarded, with medical professionals continuing to manage his care.

Despite concerns over his age and health, Pope Francis’s responsiveness to treatment is seen as a positive sign.

The non-invasive mechanical ventilation has proven to be a critical part of his respiratory support during this period.

The Vatican assures the public that the Pope is under constant supervision, and his medical team is working diligently to address any complications.

The Catholic Church worldwide remains focused on the Pope’s health, with followers offering prayers and support.
