Pope Francis, 88, remains under observation at a hospital in Rome one week after being admitted for pneumonia and chronic bronchitis.

His doctors have stated that his condition is not life-threatening, though they emphasize the need for ongoing monitoring.

The Vatican explained that the hospitalization was a precautionary measure to ensure the pope received proper care for a lung infection.

The medical team confirmed that while vigilance is necessary, there is no immediate danger to his life.

They assured the public that the pope is receiving comprehensive care and responding well to treatment.

Due to his age and the complexity of his health condition, the team continues to monitor his status closely.

Pope Francis is conscious and able to communicate with those around him, including expressing gratitude to his medical team.

Reports from the Vatican have confirmed that he remains mentally alert despite his physical condition, dismissing any rumors about cognitive decline.

While in the hospital, the pope has continued with a light daily routine, including clerical work and briefings on Vatican matters.

His aides are assisting him with his responsibilities, ensuring that church functions proceed smoothly.

The Vatican has pledged to continue offering updates on his health as needed.
