In response to the devastating floods that impacted the Texas Hill Country over the July 4 weekend, Poodie’s Roadhouse in Spicewood, Texas, opened its doors to host an all-day benefit concert to provide aid and support to affected families.

This historic music venue, founded in 1998 by Randall “Poodie” Locke, renowned for hosting legendary performers such as Willie Nelson and Billy Joe Shaver, dedicated 12 hours to music, community, and healing. The event was not merely about entertainment; it served as a beacon of hope for those grappling with the aftermath of the floods.

Organized by venue owner Sharon Burke and BB Morse of Poodie’s Party nonprofit, the concert aimed to channel the collective spirit of the community towards relief efforts. Burke expressed a personal connection to the catastrophe, noting the urgency to assist the Sandy Creek area. Morse emphasized the concert as an opportunity to contribute positively amid the adversity faced by the community.

The benefit included a diverse lineup of performers, a silent auction, and a livestream to engage a broader audience, ensuring widespread participation in relief efforts. Community member Michael Kern highlighted the event’s essence as a gathering of support and assistance. Morse performed, sharing his musical talents to further amplify the event’s impact. Through the online livestream, the messages of hope and unity reached well beyond the venue’s walls, as Burke noted the overwhelming generosity and community spirit demonstrated through donations and contributions.

Poodie’s Roadhouse continues its legacy as a central hub for community gatherings and support, reinforcing its role as a symbol of resilience and unity in times of need.
